From Cookham Dean to Holyport, we look after gardens in and around Maidenhead. Our gardeners cut grass, trim hedges, tidy borders and clear overgrown spaces, either as a single job or as regular garden maintenance through the year. We are based nearby in Datchet, so Maidenhead gardens are close to home for us.
The villages to the north and west of Maidenhead have larger gardens, often with long hedges, mature trees and lawns that back onto fields or the common land around Pinkneys Green and Maidenhead Thicket. Gardens like these need a steady routine: hedges kept in shape, leaves cleared in the autumn and lawns cut while the grass is growing.
Closer to the town centre, many back gardens are long and narrow, with little room to store a mower or green waste. A regular visit keeps the lawn cut and the borders weeded, so the garden stays usable without you having to find the time, and we leave it tidy when we finish.
Lawns near the Thames, around Boulters Lock and along the river towards Bray, can sit wet for weeks in winter and then grow fast once the weather warms. Mowing waterlogged grass damages the lawn, so it is better to wait until the ground has firmed up. In late spring and summer these lawns often need cutting more often than gardens on higher ground.
Laurel, privet and conifer hedges can put on a great deal of growth in a single Maidenhead summer. We trim them back to a neat line and weed the borders beneath them. Hard cutting is best saved for after the nesting season, roughly March to August, as nesting birds are protected by law.
